Born into a large extended family in a small town in East Texas,
I knew from a young age that I wanted to explore more of the world. I didn’t know how I was going to do it, I just knew that I would.
Fast-forward to finishing university and I still knew I wanted to travel and explore the world. And, I still wasn’t exactly sure about how things would evolve, but I had a place to start. Through the student organization, AIESEC, I had an internship at Ogilvy & Mather in Istanbul, Turkey. Although initially extremely disappointed that I wasn’t going to France, Belgium or Switzerland (having studied French), I viewed it as a launching pad into the rest of Europe. I never did manage to live in Paris to my chagrin, but I lived briefly in both Switzerland and Belgium before heading back the the US to get serious about my career.
With the experience of Ogilvy under my belt, I launched into my first career in advertising – working first in NYC, LA and finally London as a VP, Worldwide Account Director. I loved working in a creative environment with great people. Some of the brands I worked with over the years included Noritake china, Sanyo fashions, Shiseido cosmetics, Canon home office products, Magnum ice cream and Nestle confectionery and beverages. Life was great.
Then, 2004 threw me a major curve ball when I lost my husband of 11 months and had my daughter 2 months later. Life suddenly was not going as I’d hoped, planned or dreamed. After many tears, much soul searching and exploration, I shifted gears. After a brief exploration of the interior design industry, I realigned my life to what was truly important to me – learning, development and making a difference in the world.
In 2008, I certified as an Executive Coach with the Institute of Leadership and Management and have been coaching and training ever since. I’ve had the joy of working with individuals and teams from entrepreneurs to Fortune 100 companies to help transform the way they think. I currently work with a select group of individuals in 1:1 coaching, run workshops and trainings for small groups of 2-20 (including TTT); and deliver high-impact, interactive trainings for large groups of 25-hundreds (virtually and F2F).
In addition to being an Executive Coach, trainer and facilitator, I’m a life-long learner. I have a Master’s in Organization Development, am a Certification Coach for Mind Gym, Sr. Consultant with Talent Dynamics, Heart Math Coach, NLP Master Practitioner and Reiki Master. In my free time, I take country ballroom dance lessons, go to the gym and practice yoga. I am imminently an empty-nester.
We may not understand it, or like it, but I truly believe that sometimes… sh*t happens so that Sh!ft Happens.
